HP has released a coupon for $250 off the HP dv6t Select Edition laptop that brings the price down to an amazing $599, here are the details:
- Use coupon code NBSE5348 at checkout to get $250 off the price of an HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition laptop, the price drops to $599 after coupon. Coupon expires after 1,500 uses or November 23rd, whichever comes first!
The $599 price gets you the following configuration:![]()
- Color: Dark Umber
- Screen: 15.6″ High Definition HP LED Brightview (1366×768)
- OS: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
- Processor: 2nd generation Intel Core i5-2430M Processor (2.4 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Turbo Boost to 3.0 GHz
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000
- Memory: 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- Storage: 750GB 5400 RPM HD
- 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
- Optical drive: SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
- Wireless: Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN
That’s an unbelievable configuration for $599, I recently reviewed the HP dv6t Select Edition and, let me tell you, it’s an extremely well built notebook for the price and the fact this has a Core i5 processor, unbelievable 8GB of RAM and huge 750GB hard drive makes for one of the best laptop deals out there at the moment. I don’t think HP will even top this deal with their Black Friday coupons.
One recommended upgrade you should make, if you can afford it, is the $150 upgrade to a Full HD screen (1920 x 1080). It is a pretty expensive upgrade, but the higher resolution will really make movie watching more pleasurable and it will also allow you to see more on the screen. With that upgrade the total would come to $749 which is still a pretty good deal for a powerful desktop replacement laptop. I would not bother with the $100 processor upgrade HP is charging, it’s definitely not worth it. If you need dedicated graphics and plan to do some gaming then the $75 upgrade to the AMD 6490M graphics card could be worth it.
To summarize, use coupon code NBSE5348 at checkout on the HP dv6t Select Edition laptop between now and November 23rd (next Wednesday) and you’ll get $250 off any dv6tse laptop and the price starts at $599.

Just tried several ways to order and not accepting the coupon code. Any suggestions?
John, I just checked the coupon code again and it works. Make sure it’s for the dv6t Select Edition (coupon is specific to that) and make sure you’re not using the Academic Pricing Discount (APP) or Friends and Family, it’s not compatible with those discounts. If your account is associated to APP pricing simply logout and checkout as a guest.
Andrew,
Got it! I upgrade to Bluetooth ($15.00) capability and 750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive ($10.00). Great deal.
Thanks
John
