Last week Best Buy featured an AMD powered Lenovo B575 for $300 and this week it’s an alternative Lenovo B570 Intel powered laptop for $300.  The specific configuration being sold is the Lenovo B570-1068AJU, a 15.6” screen laptop with an all black and boxy design and quite decent specs for the rock bottom price.  Here are those specs for the Lenovo B570 being sold at Best Buy:

The Intel B950 is a newer processor from Intel, however it is a budget level processor and does not offer high performance.  It’s approximately 10% slower than the Intel Core i3-2310m processor according to benchmarks, but for most people it will still offer enough performance for their needs.  It will have no issues with performing common tasks such as web surfing, Office productivity apps, movie watching, multi-tasking etc.  What it will not support well is any type of 3D gaming.  It does have an HDMI port so you can output video to TV.

The design is all black, which though not stunning is certainly passable as a nondescript looking laptop. The build quality won’t be ThinkPad like, it’s going to be made of mostly plastic. But for a budget laptop you get a lot and the pricing is rock bottom and what you’d expect to see on Black Friday, not the beginning of October.

Note, you cannot buy the B570 on Lenovo.com, it is exclusively available through Best Buy for this $300 price right now. As such, support is rather lacking and Lenovo.com does not offer much in the way of drivers or user guide downloads.
