Target has an awesome deal on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, it’s $299.99 with Free shipping this week, but chances are that at this price they’ll sell out very soon. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer usually sells for $399.99 so this is a full 25% off of that price. As a comparison, Amazon is selling this exact same model for $394. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer on sale at Target is the TF101-A1 model that comes with the following specs:
- Processor: NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core Processor
- Screen: 10.1″ WXGA 1280×800 IPS display with Gorilla Glass
- Ram: 1GB DDR2
- Wireless: WiFi-N IEEE 802.11b/g/n , Bluetooth
- Webcam: Front 1.2MP, Rear 5MP
- Weight: 1.5lbs
- Memory (Ram): 16GB
- OS: Android 3.2
One important feature of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer that makes it unique is the keyboard docking station (retails for $120 at Amazon). The docking station essentially turns the Eee Pad into a laptop and also boosts the battery life up to nearly 16 hours thanks to the built-in battery on the keyboard docking station. To be clear, this is not a Windows OS based tablet, it uses the Android 3.2 Google OS, so you won’t be able to run all the Windows software programs you might be used to on it. However, the Android Marketplace has a ton of apps and there are a lot of alternatives to the software you might be used to on Windows. I wouldn’t suggest the Eee Pad Transformer as a laptop replacement, but it could make for a good “companion device” that is used when you’re on the go and just want something light to carry and be able to get on the web when necessary.
Some other neat features to point out are the mini HDMI port and Gorilla Glass display. The mini HDMI port means that you can output the Asus Eee Pad display to a larger monitor or even TV in your living room and enjoy movies and pictures stored on the device. The Gorilla Glass is a rugged style display from Corning that is built to withstand drops and knocks and not crack. That’s a pretty important feature for a tablet that you are constantly holding and can easily slip from your hands.
All that for $299.99 is a pretty good deal, it’s just too bad we were spoiled by $99 HP TouchPads and all other deals pale in comparison!

Not working
hey Lisa, unfortunately this deal finished last week, I’ll post again if a good deal comes up. The Amazon Kindle Fire for $199.99 might be something you’re interested when it comes out next month too.
