If you’re a student that’s majoring in business, accounting or finance then the Wall Street Journal is a great newspaper to subscribe to in order to keep up with everything going on in the world of business. That said, many students may not be able to afford the $150+ for a print version WSJ newspaper on top of the school and textbook costs you already incur, but the good news is that the Wall Street Journal offers a student discount that gives you several options for subscription lengths and bundles the print, online and mobile edition all for the price of one — regular subscribers have to pay for each separately. If you’re a student just go to this site to see the pricing and options for subscribing: http://wsjstudent.com/
Currently a break down of the Wall Street Journal student offer subscription length and pricing are:
- 10-weeks for print + online + mobile for $19.95 ($1.99 per week)
- 15-weeks for print + online + mobile for $29.95 ($1.99 per week)
- 1-year for print + online + mobile for $99.95 ($1.92 per week)
- 2-years for pint + online + mobile $179 ($1.72 per week)
For a comparison of these costs to what regular subscribers have to pay right now for
print + online the cost is $140 for new subscribers, so while you’re not exactly saving the 75% amount the WSJ Student site claims, but you are saving $40 or almost 30% so it’s a generous discount nonetheless. The flexible lengths for subscriptions is nice for students too, if you just want to get the paper while you’re at school or maybe to try out for 10-weeks then $20 is a low risk amount. If you’re really into saving money then the two year $179 amount is a true bargain, since you get six issues a week and it’s $1.72 per week that amounts to only about 28 cents per issue!
For those of you that have an iPhone or Blackberry, the WSJ Mobile app is really nice for both and since that subscription access comes bundled with the student offer it’s a really nice cherry on top.
