Amazon Drops Price On MS Office 2010 Student to $99

image Amazon.com has just dropped the price on Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 to just $99.99 and that’s shipped free and with no tax, previously it was $126.99 and the MSRP is $149.99 so this is quite a big drop.  If you are a student with a .edu email address and attend college, you can still get Microsoft Office 2010 Student for a cheaper price of $79.95 but if you are in High School or a parent that does not have a .edu email then using Amazon is your cheapest option right now.

Microsoft Office 2010 comes with the following key Office applications:

  • MS Word 2010
  • MS Excel 2010
  • MS PowerPoint 2010
  • MS OneNote 2010

These applications are definitely the most used and important of the Office suite and for many people, even if you’re not a student, this package will suit your needs just fine.  OneNote is a great application that many students are not aware of, it makes it easy to take notes and organize things into separate notebooks and share notes online.  For those students that have a Tablet PC OneNote offers fantastic support for taking written notes via digital pen input.

Everyone knows what Word, Excel and PowerPoint do and since college and high school involve so many papers, presentations and science experiments you’ll definitely need to use all three of these applications.  The MS Office 2010 Student sold at Amazon comes with a DVD install disc and allows installs on up to 3 computers for 3 different users.

I'm a big believer in the importance of technology usage in education, but not just having blind faith in technology gadgets and using them in a school setting for the sake of it.
