AT&T has an awesome offer going right now, they just dropped the price on the DSL Lite to $14.95 a month. Also referred to as “Naked DSL” and “Dry Loop DSL”, DSL Lite from AT&T simply means you do not have to signup for a landline or TV bundle to get DSL service from AT&T. This is a huge plus for students as most of you already have a cell phone and no need for a landline, but DO have a need for cheap Internet access when at your off campus apartment! AT&T DSL is available only in certain areas, see the list at the end of this post for the states that AT&T covers with DSL. To get the offer you do have to be a new AT&T DSL customer, for the first 12 months the cost is $14.95 per month and there after it would revert to regular price. To check availability and get service simply go to this page on AT&T and then select your state.
Note that there are different levels of DSL service available, you can get more bandwidth if you’re willing to pay more. The DSL Elite option gives you 6.0MBPs download speeds and that will only cost $19.95 but is six times as fast as the basic. The awesome news however is that DSL Pro and DSL Express with 3.0MBPs and 1.5MBPs download speeds respectively are also $14.95 a month for a year with this introductory offer.
AT&T DSL is available in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin
