Target is a very handy store for students as it has everything you need under one roof including school supplies, food, electronics, clothing and a pleasant shopping experience to boot. The items Target sells are generally pretty good quality yet still budget friendly, which is of the utmost importance to cost sensitive students. I was happy to find recently that it is now possible to get a student discount at Target.com using the new Edhance.com student discount portal.
In order to get this 6% Target student discount you just register at Edhance.com. Edhance.com will verify you are indeed a student, you must have a .edu school email and they will verify with your educational institution that you’re indeed registered and taking classes. During this registration process, you will also be required to enter a credit card that you can use at physical store merchants to track purchases also (unfortunately the Target discount is only online for now). Once registered you can use a link from Edhance.com to go to Target.com, any purchases you make will be tracked by Edhance.com. You won’t get an instant 6% discount when checking out at Target.com, but rather you will be credited with 6% of the purchase you make in the Edhance.com system. Once you reach $10 or more of discounts by using the Edhance.com system, they’ll directly transfer a credit back to your credit card.
The best thing about Ehance.com is that it is free to sign up, there is no cost. And there are many more merchants other than Target participating. Other merchants include Toshiba, Apple, Puma, Barnes and Noble and others. To see the full list of merchants see this page: http://www.edhance.com/discount/search
